WHAT WE ARE
Metis Nation, Inc. is:
· A charitable Non-Profit corporation.
· A "non-federally" recognized Indian tribe.
· Created under Articles of Incorporation.
· Organized to conduct business through corporate Bylaws.
· Dedicated to meeting the purposes and goals of its mission and vision.
· National in scope - the Governing Board is representative of local chartered territories.

WHAT WE ARE NOT
Metis Nation, Inc. is not:
· A federally recognized Indian tribe.
· Affiliated with any federal, state, or local unit of government in the United States or Canada.
· Affiliated with any federally recognized or status Indian tribe in the United States or Canada.
However, Metis Nation, Inc. may enter into partnerships or agreements with any of the aforementioned entities to further the purposes and goals of its mission and vision.
